Does anyone know what the difference is between PRG's full leaf pack replacement and the leaf pack from 4x4.com.

Prg is about double the price, offers 3 inch of lift, but lowers payload. 10 leaf pack.

4x4 offers a pack what looks like a 6 leaf pack, but increases payload to 880 lbs. 3 inches is achieved with a shackle.

what am i missing, is there some significant difference i dont know of?

They're both full replacements, but the 4x4parts lift is designed for more heavy duty work in addition to the lift, thus the payload increase

The PRG lift is more of an off-road design which provides a lot more flex at the cost of payload, so it all comes down to what you want out of your ride: more cargo, or better performance and ride

They are both for off road. Just different applications.

The one sold by 4x4parts is more for an expedition type trucks. The one sold buy PRG is more for dessert racing type trucks.

4x4parts also sells a medium duty replacement leaf pack.

i've been thinking about the same thing. i have a 2wd with prg 2" mini kit but have been searching for a little more lift. i know i want to deffinetly use cst spindles up front but i don't know what springs shackls add a leafs or blocks or any other combonation to go with for the rear. honestly i'm looking for the least expensive of all to use. but also would like to stay away from super tall blocks too. any advice or experience out there thanks brian

The PRG is to light for me. With the bumper and the fact I still use my bed those spring would be sagging in a year.

The ARB heavy load springs sounds to much for me. They have two overload leaves and that's just over kill for my needs.

The ARB medium duty load springs would probably fit may needs but I would want a true 3" of lift.

do you think the heavy load springs would be way too harsh of a ride?

its not really the harshness of the ride its the flex. With a multi-use vehicle you need to find a balance. If you do lots of towing and hauling then the overload springs are good. If you are stretching out on rocks then they are bad. So you've got to find a setup that not only gives you the lift your looking for, but also the utility.

I went with the 2-leaf pack and a 2" block to get a combined 4" of rear lift. With the 2-leaf pack you remove the overload spring and while this puts a lot more arch in the springs it also reduces the payload. But I have also added rear shocks that are at least 4" longer. Which I think many folks don't do. IMHO if you lift the rear you should also extend the length of your rear shocks. That combination should extend the life of the leaf pack.
