Have an 02 CC Frontier automatic and am experiencing something banging or knocking on the floor under my feet while driving and when at a stop while still in drive. You can feel it in the drivers seat as well. If I switch to park or N it seems to go away or not be as predominant. It does not always do this and thats what is strange. Any ideas??? Could be in the engine as well but the Rpm's dont bounce around and seems steady.

Ha!!! Man you never know. When I think about it, it may be a vibration as well as thumping. almost like a bad tranny mount or engine mount. I have only had the truck for 2 weeks so I am not too familiar with it yet.

I would crawl up under there with a flashlight while someone controls the throttle/gearshift and see if there's something obvious. :duh:

This could be motor mount/tranny mount... If its when your moving, i would also consider U joints as a possible cause, but if your sitting still, that doesn't make much since...

I was going to say drivers side motor mount or there is a body mount right under your feet but that dosent apply at a stand still.....

Is it a long bed? or 2wd?
It is a long bed

I just want to say thanks for all the suggestions. I am going to get underneath tomorrow night and take a good thorough look at everything and find out what in hell is going on. This site is awesome!
