I have one 10" Rockford Fosgate
OR
Two 10" Comp Kickers (already in a box together, but maybe too big to fit?)

What I'm wondering is would I be able to install the two 10" Kickers and still have space in the back? If so where should they go in my truck?

Or if I go with the single Rockford, where should I put it?
Just wondering about where people have put their sub(s) as I still want room back there for stuff.

Think I'd be dissapointed by just going with the single Rockford instead of the two Kickers?
I've already replaced the sucky stock speakers and will be installing two amps, one for speakers, one for sub, when I install the sub(s).

-- OR --

Which would be better?
Single 10" Kicker Comp or single 10" Rockford Fosgate?
(My issue being my Dad doesn't want all the space in the back used up.)

Sorry for all the questions but I appretiate any help,
Kev

have you looked at supercrewsound.com? thats where i got mine from for about $130. i have one 10" kicker comp myself. they have the option of two subs if you like. if you want to save space in the rear (under the rear seats) then you could shorten the box. i have also read of some people putting a sub under the driver seat. just some options to jog your thinking.

it does really nice. on songs that have deep bass, it is actually too much for my likeing and i keep the bass on 0. especially when you sit in the back seat. people have asked me to turn down the bass. i run an eclipse cd3000 head unit with a 200 watt eclipse amp.

kevin you've got a king cab. I would build a box like HKYstormfront did. What type of music do you listen 2. a single 10 is more then enough most of the time.

Yeah I apologize I meant to make the title King Cab... lol but yeah I've figured out what I'm doing.. just doing a single 12" behind the passenger seat.

Thanks for all the suggestions, again sorry for saying "Krew" mean King lol

Ive got 2 kicker comp 10s in my kc similar to how jonchos has his, but not quiet as custom built boxes. I still have all the room in the center between the boxes. Its not a lot, but its something. I plan to make a single box to cover the floor and have the subs fire down, that way i can set stuff on top of the sub box. But thats a project when the outisde of the truck is done.

Built this box to replace one of the back seats - box houses a JL Audio 10W3 being fed 300W. Found the matching fabric at a local shop.

definately a nice job! i am curious as to how you did it. a write up would be awesome. I would love some of that fabric in grey.

I did not take many pictures when building the box. Construction is all ¾” MDF with the rounded corners constructed of 3 pieces of the MDF cut at angles and then shaped to match where the seat came out of. I reinforced those corners with fiberglass on the inside of the box since it did get a bit thin after sanding. The back of the box was also rounded off the match the contours of the back panel of the truck.

The first install of this box used (2) 6 ½ ED drivers that I had and the pictures below are from that install but it uses the same box so you can see how it was assembled. When I switched to the JL audio sub I had to increase the depth a bit so I added a ¾ inch strip of poplar around the perimeter of the box and then replaced the front. I used good wood glue for all construction except for the front. Here I used latex caulk and quite a few screws – the caulk seals the front to the box, the screws give it strength, but this allows for removal later if needed.

The net volume of the box is .62 and can accommodate a sub with a depth of around 6 ½ “. I have attached a picture of the new box from the passenger side of the truck.

The last picture is from my old 2002 Frontier

This is how I am running my JL 12w6V2.
Same spot as mine, except firing backwards. Alpine MRP-650 amp (600W RMS) under the drivers seat w/ a 2F cap.

I used to run 1x Alpine 10" Type R @ 400W RMS but it just wasn't enough :)
