OK, when I picked up my 2010 it was missing the Valet Key, so today I went and had one cut. Had to bring all keys to get the chips reprogramed in, no problem. Checked all keys and worked fine as they should. On the way home I stopped by my locksmith and had them cut me a key for my wallet, at first she said $75 dollars, thinking I wanted a chiped key. I told her it was just a lock out key for my wallet, $2.00. Great, get key and try on door, perfect, well lets try something, put in ignition and it starts right up? Well maybe because I have all these keys with chips in the truck, try again when I get home and Keys in house, starts right up again. Did they leave something off after reprograming my new Valet Key? I think I'll leave it like this but wonder why a flat unchiped key starts my truck. Also wonder about the mysteryous chip programing process.

What model is your truck (XE, SE, LE) etc. Are you sure none of the other keys were nearby when you tried the flat plain blank.

if the key made by the locksmith starts your truck then you dont have the security system. just check nissan usa and you DO NOT have the security package. it isnt offered on the KC SE's. its only offered on the KC LE/PROx4 and the crew cabs.
