Just finished sliders

I bought these sliders used off of the local classifieds for an xterra. They are a little short because of it, but for $100, I cant complain nor not get them. I had to grind off one of the mounting brackets and weld it back on to match the stock frontier slider mounting holes. After lots of sanding and grinding, I put several coats of a metal primer, then three coats of a spray on bed liner, all in black. I then let them cure for a full week before bolting them on thanks to the cold weather. I think they look a little funny because of the body lift I have, but it would only be for looks to move them up. i am not worried about the look of them being that low. Enjoy.

nice, i am going to fab up some in metal fab.
Man, i wish i took that class. Who is teaching it? I took a wood class from the same guy who was doing metal fab. I forgot his name. I would have made so many things for the 86 f-150 i had at the time in that class.

haha right now i am taking adv welding for the 2nd time cuz i have elective credits to burn and then in 2 weeks i start that class. that would be joe brogdon. i had him the first time i took adv. he retired about 2 years ago and we have sara campbell teaching it now.
brogdon! I remeber that grumpy old man. Lol. Really cool guy, let me bring my truck in and helped me weld an exhaust tip on. I took all wood shop the years i was there. I wish i hadnt, it hasnt helped me one bit today.

Stock holes? Frame or body(pinch weld)? I hope they're on the frame.

Look great nonetheless.... great price too! :goodjob:

 dude look at the pics, hes no idiot they are bolted to the frame rails and clearly nothing on the pinch welds
Yes, they are bolted in the factory holes on the frame. I have only used two of the three brackets because the supports in the middle line up with holes in the frame that have no nut behind them. I am going to throw some bolts in the middle support all the way through the frame. With just the two supports bolted, they hold very well. I can stand and even jump on the sliders and they feel as if they were the frame itself.

Be nice brock!
whatchu talkin bout willis! lmao that was nice
I don't know him, no idea if he's an idiot or not.

It's hard to tell from the pics where exactly the brackets go. Ford bolts their side steps onto the body from the inside of the pinch weld, I was just asking if he did something similar. Like I said, I don't know him... there's plenty of people out there doing stuff like this:

..Just making sure he does things that won't end up hurting him/his truck.

dont really see the downside of that, i can understand if they dont lock the tongue but yeah?? other than the fact it looks ghetto.

Yes, still planning on the moab trip. Things with the gf are f'd up so still seeing if the trip to LG this summer is still a go. I may come anyway.
if you can weld, i'd make an all pro toyota style kicker on the rear along with a mount that bolts to the spring hanger.

something like this

Thats sweet! That will be the next mod to the sliders. Since i just painted them though, it may not be for awile or until i decide to take them off again to re-paint or touch up.
