Greetings, as per usual. Short-time lurker and shorter-time owner. I recently got back into owning a truck as I have been wanting to do for many years, and after a bit of a head-scratch I jumped into a 2012 Nissan Frontier Pro 4X...and couldn't be happier! I have always had a vision for the truck I wanted to own and take everywhere (even as a little kid playing in the dirt) and with a few mods...I think I have found it. Not a bad place to start off, already a fully loaded truck between the sound system, Utili-Track setup and all the bells and whistles I could hope for, but I have got an itch to customize, and sadly the new parts are already flowing in. Looking forward to sharing ideas and getting tips from veteran owners! Clickable thumbnails below...

So far the few things I have done are removing the lettering on the tailgate, black Plasti-Dip on the front a rear emblems and order a few pieces to dress him up a bit, as well as some handy accessories for hauling kayaks and other outdoor toys...updates to come!

Welcome from another short-timer ::wink::! I head south at the first hint of cold...a block heater on a timer would really save that engine a lot of wear & tear of the -10F starts. I use to pickup meat in the Twin Cities (and drop fruit/vegetables to Cub Foods) many years ago and I would have to run my engine on high idle all night - otherwise it would lockup tight on those cold nights.

Welcome to the forums ..... Sorry about your living in Minnesota :)
Thank you! It's my own fault, really, following a girl up here over ten years ago and then never leaving...

I thought about it, however I do have a heated and insulated garage (as insulated as a garage can be) and so the main place I would need it is at work...which wouldn't really be possible. I may still add one...

I'm sensing a general consensus here ::wink::

Having spent time in North Dakota your neighbor; the first modification I would do is add a block heater.
Rydell Nissan in Grand Forks should be able to order the factory block heaters, well they were able to when I asked after I moved up there in 2011. That being said, I went 4 years up there with no block heater. However, a remote start is your best friend.

I appreciate the heads-up! Already have the remote start, that was one of my main criteria when looking at a truck, especially with leather seats. Got a couple tweaks I need to make to the electrical system soon, at least before I take him camping...
