Been reading about this. Does the factory put a synthetic blend in when it builds the truck?

Any reason to use the same when changing the oil or is it better to go to full synthetic? Yeah I know there are about 10,000 threads on this.

i was told it came with a blend, not 100% on that ,chuck at sullivan bros told me when i purchased it new, after my first change i have been using full synth castrol 5/30.
i do know of another friend of a friend that uses standard oil that has tapping issues on start up. go with the synth change it every 7000 miles just my 2 cents

the only cars that come with "special" oil in them from the factory are ones with VVEL like the 370z. they have ester oil which is much more expensive. the GTR comes with mobil 1 synth, though it's a special blend for the GTR (supposedly). our trucks come with regular oil. it may have a few extra ingredients for break in miles but not much of a change

Next time you're in for an oil change walk right in to the sales floor while chuck is trying to make a deal and tell him in front of his customers he's full of SH$T and what you think of him.
