I have the super black 05 SE CC. I was wondering if it was possible to get my SE wheels painted black and still look good instead of buying a new set. Correct me if im wrong but is it just going to be a black powder coat?

Would the rims look just as good as the ones they sell?

How much do you guys think it would cost per wheel?

I would pay 75 per wheel for a good job.
but I have never priced it.
Make sure the person doing it has done it before.

hmmm i know u didnt want to buy a new set, but if you want a black offroad rugged looking rim, then i would go to les schawb, i know i found a set i liked for 70 bucks a rim. and id rather have those than paint my stock ones... also buying those rims would be a lot cheaper! if your going to pay 70 bucks a rim to paint, then why not buy new rims for 70 bucks a rim, and get a trade in on your frontier rims? les scwab gave me 20 bucks a rim for my silver 2000 SE rims summer of 05. so that would bring your cost down to 50 bucks a rim.

and click the wheels brochure and go to page 18 there is 3 diff black rims. all three of those were less than 100 bucks a rim. i think one set was even 50 bucks a rim. and IMO they look very good with a nice meaty tire. a very rugged offroad look.
i honestly have been thinking about selling my chrome rims i bought and downgrading to the allied type 54 mock lock.

I would love to buya new set but no one makes 16" black rims for a 2005 frontier..im sure if i wait forever then someone would eventually make some for the 2005 frontier especailly becuase our wheels have a odd pattern

Yea powdercoating is the way to go if you wanna blacken the rims. Powercoating probably last a long time. It should cost 75 more or less, would be interesting to see how it would look with the factory wheels on your truck.

I am interested in doing the same thing as i want black wheels, but they don't make em' yet, I only have the stock 15" steelies too.
