Just had similar situation this morning while driving. It is snowing so first time I thought it was a wheel slip and then regaining traction. But then it happened like 5 more times on areas where I know I would not be slipping. No slip light came on. No codes from the ECU (I checked while driving, gotta love torque pro). It almost feels like the rear brakes grab for a second or the transmission has a little hard shift but it's random times and not when the tranny would normally be shifting. I do have an automatic. It is a 2014 though so hope cross contamination isn't an issue.

Side note I did engage the hill decent control going down my mountain as there was snow on it. I still don't know how that is supposed to work as it doesn't seem to do anything other than make the light blink. When I was at the bottom I forgot to shut it off so I was driving along and then realized it. I flicked the switch and as soon as I did that the first "kick, hiccup, buck" or whatever we want to call it happened. Timing might have been totally coincidental though.

Have you checked for leaky rear axle seals? Gear lube on the brake pads or e brake shoes can cause them to get grabby though normally in reverse only.
I was just under there last week because I get this burning smell. There was zero wetness on anything behind the wheels or anywhere under there.

The burning smell though odd I guess is just hot vehicle because my girlfriends rogue smells the same way. I am new to having a garage and it seems vehicles after being driven do have a smell that I never noticed parking outside. It appears to be the hot tires. :duh:

This is now on my immediate to do list. I feel like this is one of those times that Occam's Razor gets beat by Murphy's Law but maybe I'll get lucky.
Hope you figure it out. Didn't mean to thread jack but it does seem we have the exact same issue. I will let you know if I figure anything out no my end. I did have some wonky things happening when my battery was bad and corroded. I will be double checking that again too. One of the wonky things was a jerk once in awhile. But I got a code for the transmission control losing connection.

check your intake. I am 99% sure I just fixed my issue. I decided to pop the hood on lunch to double check my battery terminals. Those checked out fine. Next I decided to check the maf connector. I had a similar issue on another car and it turned out to be the plug that goes on the maf. It would lose connection every so often and cause this same hiccup. That was tight and fine. I then looked for mice chew marks and found nothing. Finally I glanced at the box and sure enough one clip was off. The top part that is connected to the tube with the maf was just flapping about. I wrestled it all back together properly and drove it. Felt like a new truck again. It didn't hiccup like it had just done 15 minutes earlier and I swear she has a bit more pep.

So in the end it looks like my maf was probably getting some erratic readings from either bouncing around or air coming in from two different spots.

Just want to say I have put about 200 miles on my truck since my last post and I have not had a single issue. Confirmed my issue was the stock airbox. What a crazy two days of driving for me and I am so glad I fixed this before because all that driving with this issue would have been horrible.
