Has anyone been able to successfully increase the idle speed on a 2nd Gen Frontier? No, there is nothing wrong with my truck ... I would like to be able to increase the engine speed to better handle large electrical loads and provide better coolant circulation at idle speeds. This is a common feature on large service trucks to handle additional loads from compressors, hoists, etc. Some additional information can be found here: http://www.gmupfitter.com/publicat/bull/bull64.pdf

Can something like this be completed on the Frontier? Ideally, I would like to be able to flip a switch to temporarily increase engine speed and then flip it back off when the load is removed.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

im not to familiar with uprev but you can adjust your engine idle with the superchips cortex also but how much im not sure and nothing you would be able to do with a switch you would have to use the tuner each time to do it wouldnt be very convenient but hey you get a couple more ponies along with it

All handhelds can bump your idle and Uprev/Osirus can do it too. Consult II/III at the dealership can do it also. Now for having a rev-up button, that is an overseas option only. I have seen pics of an artic truck with that button from the factory but that is about it. I am not sure what they do but it may be an accelerator pedal simulator or something.

I think what the OP is looking for is a High Idle kit. I've only seen them on diesel trucks though.
Yup, exactly what I posted above. Once again, he should search this site for some pics of an artic truck with the button. Then possible find a FSM that covers the artic trucks and figure out what is added to make it all work.

I am not familiar with this - can you provide more information?
All you would need is the Cipher program (if you wanted to bump the idle). This is offered by UpRev. Visit UpRev - Engine Management. The Cipher program runs about ~$300. Check their website or contact them, they can fill you in with the details.
