Is there anyone that manufacturer IMS anymore? NWP Engineering put out a feeler 2 years ago.
Oh I did not think about that..Pink doesn't scare me, our Skyline engine was pink. Tried to get that Hello Kitty pink.
Will you also machine in those torque swirl things for extra noise making ability?
Yeah we looked in to it, have one, have guy with a CNC machine that has made them before for Zs, have looked in to all the legal stuff I could on reproducing the one I have, and I have the cash to put up front.. I'm just stuck on the other side of the world for a few more months. Also I'm not joking about them being hot pink..This thread is going to hell in a hand basket.
To the OP: I'd be interested as well. I've been weighing the pros and cons of having one machined at work, but I don't think it's worth the effort.
yeah that is way steep.. I know one off suspension parts are CNCed for less then $100..man once its programmed they can be spit out like hotcakes. $1000 for proto, that sounds steep to me.
Yeah what? a round shock tube? LOL. There are more dimensions to this item that you may think. I'm assuming you have one? I do.yeah that is way steep.. I know one off suspension parts are CNCed for less then $100..
Thats the key, its got to be all set up and programmed. Exactly once its all figured out it is a piece of cake, its getting there that takes time and effort. Of course, the 1g to do it seemed extreme.man once its programmed they can be spit out like hotcakes. $1000 for proto, that sounds steep to me.
CNC machining is all about setup. Tool choice, figuring out the steps in a logical order so the billet doesn't have to moved very much, programming the g-codes. It all takes a lot of time. Once one fires off, the rest are easy.Thats the key, its got to be all set up and programmed. Exactly once its all figured out it is a piece of cake, its getting there that takes time and effort. Hey, that looks pretty cool. If you could duplicate them for a reasonable price. You could probably sell them here and at a lot of other nissan sites.CNC machining is all about setup. This little guy took me about 4 hours to setup, and I got REALLY lucky and it didn't have any mistakes in it the first time. It's a pen holder I made in CNC class.

I would, but I don't have the CNC file for it anymore. It's a one-off at this point.Hey, that looks pretty cool. If you could duplicate them for a reasonable price. You could probably sell them here and at a lot of other nissan sites.
