Same setup I have, you'll love the volant for sure

Just a heads up tho i've had the banks for about a year now and i'm starting to get a "shaking' noise at 2000+ rpms, pretty certain its coming from the muffler. Probably going to get it replaced with a magnaflow or something else soon

You can actually use the stock location if you want. Remove the horn from the truck, take off the bracket and bend the tab 180* from stock, drill a new hole and bolt it back into it's stock spot. This is what I wound up doing since I was in a hurry and didn't have wire to relocate elsewhere.

Or you can extend the wires and bolt it in front of the radiator. Someone else will chime in on that. There is a thread somewhere on it. Search this sub-forum for threads with "Volant" in the title and you'll find it.

Yep, I had to relocate the horns on my 2006.
I extended the wires and mounted the horns using the existing bracket (bent flat) to the front vertical brace centered on the truck right in front of the radiator.
Horns are pointed down and mounted basically low enough to be behind the front valance/bumper to help prevent excessive exposure to the elements.

And yes, I would definitely reset the ECU to allow for it to re-evaluate the A/F ratio once everything is installed. Can't hurt.

Don't have one handy, but when I ditched the Volant and installed the INJEN I left the horn the way I had it before. I'll snap a picture when I get home from work and post it up.

Since Photobucket is being stupid at the moment I had to upload the photos to imageshack.

^^It's easier to see the tab bent around in this photo then the next one. Behind the right (image) horn is where the hole needs to be drilled to get the factory bolt to line up with the factory hole. The Volant is a tight fit with the horn like this but it will work.

Just another pic showing the same thing at a different angle.

We're not going to get into the Powercore debate. My install thread will tell you all you need to know about my experience with it.

why do you need to remove the headlight? just get a wobbly and an extension and get the bolt to the horns out? these are easy tasks!! and for the headlight should be one or two bolts and a retaining stud deal that pops out under pressure

I didn't have a wobbly to reach nor an extension long enough. Needed to get the headlight out. Was so pissed i screwed up my screws... lol so now i have one left over and i just have the horn hanging in the bumper because there was no way to fit it. I'll have to look at it closer later. What horrible Design. A true PITA i should have gone with my gut and gotten the AEM Brute Force. Oh well its in and running.. No Check Engine Light after some light running.

NO no even better. they were popular mechanics from wal-mart....

Took everything apart again today. Found where the missing screw went and installed the horn to the driver side just infront of the intake hole where a grounding screw connects. I flattened out the bracket and it fit with some help. Had to extend the screw hole in the Air Box for everything to line up correctly.. So now finally no rattles and everything is secure but I am now missing a screw for the air box cover... damit... i guess i'll email Volant to see if i can get a replacement. Pics tomorrow.

The headlight is actually 4 screws for the headlight and 2 for the bumper to allow it slide out. At least for me to get it out.

Horn placement

Rotated intake down so the condenser won't block it.
