So me and a buddy installed my Smittybilt XRC8 winch.I got the winch for $280. It was going good but the solenoid was to tall to mount on top of the winch so we had to mount it to the side and drill a couple holes and cut a square for the wires to run threw. Well we finished and it looks good. Cant wait to test it out.

I have almost the same 1 that I just installed but I got the xrc8 Comp series with the Synthetic rope,I was going to move my solenoid also but said what the hell and made the cuts

havent used it yet but to put the line on.I tried to hook it to my Jetta and it drug it across my driveway so I hooked it to the tree in my back yard to spool it

hey NGBateman I got the cover with mine also but because of making the cuts its just to tight to get it on do you want it?

love my winch, but im thinking about making the switch to synthetic rope.
no more kinks, easy going, a lot of weight gone.
the only thing im worried about with it is getting cut, dirty, ripped, frayed.
