Base model with no tach in the dash.
Does anyone know if a same year dash, with a tach, would work in it without any wiring work?????

The only real way to know, is look at the wiring diagram for the model with the tach. Then look at your own connectors (when you pull the cluster) and see if it matches up. I'm inclined to think it will, it's a lot cheaper to make one wire loom, and not plug in the tach, than to make several different harnesses.

That's my thinking.
I would think it would cost them more to make two different harnesses.
I'll see if I can find a wire diagram.

Maybe this is useless information, but on 1986-1993 Mazda trucks, one can replace the cluster with one from a truck that has the factory tach, plugs right in. On those one must move the speedometer cable over a tad so it doesn't bind, though.

I'm hoping to find a junk yard that will let me try it.
Also want to swap out the 60/40 seat for some buckets and a console if I can find the same color and in good condition.
