in installed the Weathertech Weatherflectors a few days ago and i notice my power window motor having to put a bit more effort in to close the window. Is this normal for the installation of these in-channel wind deflectors?

I have the Weatherflectors installed on my LE KC and for the first month or so the
motors did labor a bit more, but now they are back to normal. The Weatherflector is
a tight fit, which I feel like is a good thing, and it takes a little time for them to seat properly.

I have EGR...the motor did work harder at first but not bad anymore.
I have had weathertech on two previous vehicles with no complaints.
I got EGR because they were darker tint this time.

Make sure they are installed properly. The first side I put in , the window wouldn't even go up without my help, then I realized I put the skinny side below the rubber of the window sill, make sure the piece of tape (provides a cushion for the rubber sill) on the skinny side of the Weathertec sits on top of the rubber sill. Once I repositioned it, it went up fine. It fit both ways so make sure you can see the tape.

I just tried to install some from AVS and ended up taking them out because I don't like how they fit and how hard the window motors have to work to roll up. If anyone is in or near Redding CA and wants them, let me know. You can have them for free.

Not sure how tight those are but I have the weather tech and they were the same way. If you put them in and spray some silicone up in the channels they will glide right up.. works great! I almost sent mine back!

I had them in my last truck (Ram 1500) for 12 years before I traded it for
this Frontier... never had a problem with them or the window motors. didn't
install them on the Frontier because with climate control... I never really
used them in the Ram and doubt that I'd use them now. Windows are either up
or down.

I have some ebay brand I installed around 2012 on my 2005. The motor had a problem from day one on both front windows. I burnt out the motor completely about 2019 and the passenger window is still tight. Ill replace that motor when the time comes. I def cant live with out these. Next truck I may try the exterior ones. I do not see the channel mount ones much any more. I bought a set for my GFs Honda Ridgeline the same year I got mines...hers never had a problem at all and to this day.
