If the vent valve breaks off, then what?

I am dong the axle vent mod. The valve has been soaking in WD 40 for a few days in anticipation of removing it. Well, today I tried to remove it and it wouldn't budge and then the bolt started to round off. I can remove it for sure if I wanted to (vise grips), but what if it breaks which looks like where this is heading? I've already blown a pinion seal so I really want to do this but not at the cost of a broken valve. Has anyone snapped it off and what did you do?

Did you use a open end wrench to try to remove the vent. At least use the 12 point boxed end. once it starts to round you sould drop a 6 point socket on it. If you can not get a socket over it, used a flared nut wrench, at least it will grab 5 points of the hex. open end wrenches are natorious for rounding tight nuts.

All that said, just pop the top off the vent cap. We always hear of ordering a toyota barbed fitting but my Toyota buddy ordered a nissan vent and popped the cap off for this vent line mod.
