My idling story: I idled at about 1400 with my 2001 2.4 and some of the time the idle would bounce between 900 and 1400. I replaced the temp senser, cleaned the MAF and replaced the iac. Come to find out my problem was whenever I clean the maf, I used a QTip with alcahol. This next tume I used only some electric ckeaner, sprayed it on and let it dry. Idle is good now at about 7 or 800. My frustration is when I shift through gears, the idle drops slowly. Also when I downshift, exhaust doesn't have too much of the popping and gargling as it had befor all of this started. I have an aftermarket exhaust. Looking for the most enjoyment out of my Frontier. I even thought of puting back on my old iac. Ideas? Thanks

Do you have an aftermarket air filter that might be over-oiled?

(If I ever go with a CAI, the filter will be the dry type.)
