I have a 2010 Frontier V6 that I feel idles too low. It idles at about 600 rpm. At those rpms it seems to idle rough and sometimes the truck shudders. If I give it a little gass and up the rpms to about 800 or so it smooths out. The dealers service dept tells me the idle speed can not be adjusted. This does not sound right to me.

well if you plan on getting one of the performance programmers you can adjust the idle with that, i bumped mine up 75 with my bully dog and have never had the annoying low idle vibrations since.

i am new to this. is the bully dog gaining you better mpg? and is this the best chip programers out there?

i don't mind spending a little money, if it helps performance and improves gas mileage.

well the first week i had it was spent with my foot on the floor so mpg didn't look good that week. spent about 2 weeks after that following the driving coach on it and seemed to be getting 2 mpg more than normal. haven't really been keeping track of it lately though and i also haven't done any long highway trips so not sure how much difference it makes there but i would guess thats where the biggest increase would be seen is just steady cruising on the highway. i mainly got it for the performance and but when i'm not putting my foot to the floor alot i haven't noticed any particular loss off mpg.

as far as weather its the best programmer thats all up to opinion i guess just check out all the programmers and see what you like

Your dealer is a moron. If they refuse to do the idle bump, put in a case with Nissan USA stating what you want and why and they will have the dealership bump the idle for you. I'd suggest something like 725-750rpm, 800 may be a little high.

Now for the programmer (and yes they are programmers and not just simple chips since they are not permiently installed), just choose whichever fits your likings the most. You have SuperChips, BullyDog and I think another. If you want a full tuner (not a simple hand programmer) then UpRev (Cipher/Osirus) is your only option.

Just an FYI, Handhelds can handle a simple intake and exhaust but once you start with LTs and HF CATs, handhelds can't keep up and will still throw a CEL. UpRev will be your only option at that point.
