My first "mod" (if you want to call it that) will be body side moldings for my crew cab. I am trying to be proactive against the inevitable knucklehead who will open his/her door carelessly into my brand new truck.
Apparently Nissan has not made them yet for the new 2010 "Night Armor" color. The Dealer's not sure when they will be available.
Would anyone out there familiar with the Frontier colors venture an opinion as to which existing side molding color might blend just fine with the truck's Night Armor (which is a dark, smoky gray color)?
Super Black? Storm Gray? (Oh yeah, the dealer did offered to paint them for $125. Uh, thanks, but no thanks.)

night armor replaces storm gray its been an Xterra color form day 1
Interesting. Based on this helpful info, I called Parts at the local dealer.
"Nope", he said. This color is not listed for the Frontier.
Then, checking out an online site to purchase, there it is, color #K27, Storm Gray as a choice for body moldings for the Frontier.
Couldn't convince him otherwise.
Guess I'll buy it online.
Thanks for the color reference Irongrave.

just a note ...

before you purchase, I would go have a look at some other frontiers with this "option" on it. I purchased mine a year ago to do the same thing, but they are still sitting in origional boxes next to the furnace, cause I hated the look, and the colour mis-match.

I never understood the body side moldings, cause there are so many different door types and heights that could hit you, it is nuts to think that the side moldings will save your doors. Anyways, why have a stick-on plastic thing over top of the concave design already on the door?

They work way better then you would expect trust me. Some how they get them in just the right spot so that just about any car door that opens onto your vehicle will hit the moldings.

if you need door protection sliders are the best way. nothing stops a door like metal tube

I was in the same boat as you when I bought my truck, almost pulled the trigger on the moldings as I could get any accessories at dealer cost since I bought the truck there. Looked at the moldings and decided I didnt really like the look and kept putting it off. 9 months later and after some rock chips on the hood and various other places I kinda gave up. Not a bad investment for some additional protection.
