More of a hassle. They don't protect from other drivers in the parking lot and they get the back pant leg dirty as mentioned. But they do look nice. In a tight narrow area isn't really effected by the steprail at all. I have done it plenty of times close up in the parking lots. The space is the same. But overall I would just go with the shrocksliders. They serve the same purpose and they are tons stronger for what is worth the value unless you like chromey stuff for looks. I prefer straight black as I live on a farm and down a gravel road. Just my 2cents.

I would probably do the same under your circumstances, but I live in the city and I like
the polished look. The stainless steel nerf bars are pretty strong and I need some help
getting up into my truck without dragging my rear end across the edge of the seats.
