Ok, here is the deal. I really like the look of Muddin' tires but I do 99% of my driving on the highway. I know what I should buy but I also know what I want to buy. What kind of mileage can I expect to get out of a set of super swampers TSL radials or Pro Comp Xtreme Mud tires? Any experiences out there? If they will wear down on me after 20K then I will scrap it and get some BFG's or something but if i can get a solid 30-40K out of them, then I will probably go for it.

Many thanks!

I'm with you! I want the look, but the funtion of a street tire. I love the look of mud tires, with knobies on the side wall. Love that! But like you, dont wanna drop a $G on tires, once a year.

I wish there was some fony mud tires. Some sic side wall knobs and a side pro-file that screams mud tire. But in actuality had a very "well manored" tread, where the rubber meets the road.

imo the good year wrangler authority's that are sold exclusively at wal mart are the best looking all-terrain out there

This is the first tire I thought of after reading the OP. The Duratrac would be a great compromise.

If you don't want to compromise, maybe a set of Mud Grapplers would treat you well. I have Mud Grapplers on my Titan (Terra Grapplers on the Frontier) and they have about 20k on them now. I should be able to get at least another 10K and maybe even 15 if I take it easy on them.

Just to tease your eyes a little more. Here's how my titan sits today.

i know they are not a MT and they dont look as agressive as a MT but my Dick Cepeck Fun Country II's are probally the most aggresive looking AT tire out there. iam like u 90% of my driving is on road and 100mile round trip commute every day. they have great wet and dry road traction. and do great in any terain other then deep sticky mud. they will do ok in mud but deffinently not as good as a true MT. and the best part, i got a little over 70K miles on my set and iam thinking i can get 15-20K more.

31" authoritys are louder than my 285/75/16 duratracs. The duratracs look alot better in person than photos. I love em. They are louder than the stock rugged trail but not as loud as the MT ive been around. If they wear well for me ill prolly never buy a different tire. the DT are more gnarly than the authority
