50k??? what do u have done 2 the truck?
He got shot down with it still had the c200k open diff under the truck.^^^
Your truck is barely a Frontier anymore. Of course you got shot down.
any info on your death valley trip? if its a private event, thats cool. but i would like to tag along if you don't mind. i always enjoy the pics you post up and would like to roll around out there.Well I finally broke something! I have 50K on the truck now with a huge chunk of that on the dirt. Driving it the other day on the street and POW big time clunking from the rear axle. Well a trip to the dealer and a gear in the rear diff was found to be broken in half. The dealer is changing it out the rear diff with no problem under warranty. So I’ll have it back in time for my Death Valley trip in a couple of weeks. My long term fix is to re-gear with 4.10s or 4.56s when available and swapping out the front diff with a M205. Also replace the electric locker with an ABR set-up. Hopefully ABR will have a locker for the M205 diff when I do this.
Alls good
Cheers
^I've heard of M226s going kaboom just puttin' around town.. esp. if it's been whooped on; even if it's been 100s of miles since...Driving it the other day on the street and POW big time clunking from the rear axle. yeah all i had at the time was calmini and the front bumper. He got shot down with it still had the c200k open diff under the truck.

Personally I think that's a lie. The diff's design could be improved but not everyone out there is experiencing broken diffs, whether it be front or rear. Some people just don't know how to wheel. They think if they keep their foot on the gas all the time it will eventually make it up. Any vehicles diff would break under those conditions. It's a matter of being light on the gas and knowing how to wheel. The diff's will also be weakened if people wear them out by not changing the fluid regularly or run them on low fluid. Lots of factors contribute. I'm not saying it's always the driver, but sometimes I really do think it is. It is a shame that Nissan hasn't really done much to change the design of the diffs over the year.it's a shame the diffs are so shi* in the nismo, front diffs are so shi* in all the 2nd gens, from what I read, gotta treat em' like china glass.
