There still plenty of time to jump in, so if you've been on the fence and would like to join us.... please post and I'll add you to the list.

Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated. I will be especially interested in your thoughts on running at night and trail choice in the dark. I have not wheeled at night since being at Pismo many years ago and have never run 'trails' at night.

I assume that you will not be coming back to HV for our group run.
Will do.
I know from experience "powerline trail" is best for night time. It's the least treacherous.

You can keep me as a maybe. It might be so much fun, I'd do it the following week. :)

No campfires allowed

There is currently a ban on open fires in this park, so there is no need to bring any firewood with you. Read this - Fire Closure Order

With temps in the low 90's to high 60's we won't really need a campfire anyway. Also, since the trails in this park DO NOT close at night, I plan on doing my first night run's since wheeling at Pismo several decades ago. Please be prepared for running at night, if you are interested.

The current plan is to do a morning run and return to camp for lunch. An afternoon run will follow the lunch break and may follow a longer route than the morning run. After dinner and once nightfall comes, we will do a night run on some of the easier trails. This will give me a chance to try out the roof lights on my PRO4X and for everyone to fire up their lightbars!

Remember, alcohol laws apply to driving off road as well.... so if you are going to join in on the night runs, I strongly suggest that you limit your alcohol intake till after the night run is completed.

Hummm, open fires probably means fired outside of the campsites. This pass weekend, every fire pit available had flames shooting out.

There is cell service out there near most campsites. AT&T even had LTE.

I had a blast this Labor Day weekend in Hungry Valley. The truck did well, never gave me a hiccup. As far as picking a campsite, you can't go wrong with any first available you see. Trails surround all campsites. For the first night trails, I recommend Jack rabbit and Powerline trails. Then, any with a green circle will be suitable for the night and 2wd rigs. Dress warm because it does get pretty chilly at night. $5 per truck, for day trip...$10 per truck, for overnight stay.

As for myself, I'm still a maybe for this weekend's trip. I really want to go, but man, I'm beat.

If you guys have any questions, feel free to ask.

I'll be calling the park tomorrow to ask about fires in the fire pits. I am also curious to know if there are water spigots in the CG.

How about those who responded as maybe? What is your status?
6. EastBayX maybe both days (CF/TNX)
7. Celt maybe both days (TNX)
9. Barcin maybe sun (CF)
11. SixSpeedSV maybe both days (CF)
12. Swift maybe both days (CF)

Clarification

I have confirmed that fires ARE allowed in the fire pits but if the wind picks up they can shut that down. Also, there is NO water available in the park so be sure to bring lots of water with you.

Please respond if you are listed as a maybe for this run and update your status.

Hey Brian - I am confirmed for Sunday. As a reminder, I am open 2wd. Figured it might be worth mentioning, so you can pre-plan trails.

Swift - I think I posted on your instagram about this meet up haha.

Also - does anyone have an SWR meter? I have not had a chance to confirm my CB radio performance and all my local shops don't carry one.
