My 2007 frontier is the LE model, which as I look up online has the heated mirrors. Now that it's getting below 10 degrees outside, my mirrors are frosting up. Last week I used the rear defroster button, which worked for the rear window but not the mirrors. I figured maybe it was wind chill being too cold because I was driving as I tried to defrost it. Today as I warmed up the truck I tried the button again, this time with it parked. Still nothing. Rear window works, side mirrors don't.
I tried using the defog option on the environmental controls and that may have worked. I say "may have" because I don't know if it was the outside ambient temperature that did it, or the actual controls. More testing is needed. But I just wanted to confirm with you guy...how the hell do you turn them on? The manual says,
"To defrost the rear window glass and outside
mirrors (if so equipped), start the engine and
push the rear window defroster switch on. The
rear window defroster indicator light on the
switch comes on. Push the switch again to turn
the defroster off.
The rear window defroster automatically turns off
after approximately 15 minutes"
So I'm worried now my mirrors may both be broken.
