My 2007 frontier is the LE model, which as I look up online has the heated mirrors. Now that it's getting below 10 degrees outside, my mirrors are frosting up. Last week I used the rear defroster button, which worked for the rear window but not the mirrors. I figured maybe it was wind chill being too cold because I was driving as I tried to defrost it. Today as I warmed up the truck I tried the button again, this time with it parked. Still nothing. Rear window works, side mirrors don't.

I tried using the defog option on the environmental controls and that may have worked. I say "may have" because I don't know if it was the outside ambient temperature that did it, or the actual controls. More testing is needed. But I just wanted to confirm with you guy...how the hell do you turn them on? The manual says,

"To defrost the rear window glass and outside
mirrors (if so equipped), start the engine and
push the rear window defroster switch on. The
rear window defroster indicator light on the
switch comes on. Push the switch again to turn
the defroster off.
The rear window defroster automatically turns off
after approximately 15 minutes"

So I'm worried now my mirrors may both be broken.

I had a SL and now have a Pro-4x Luxury....
It is the middle button / rear window defrost for the rear window and heated mirrors.

Yeah, I figured. It doesn't appear to do anything for my side mirrors. I think they may be broken. Or it's too cold out?

There should be a little icon with wavy lines in a corner of each mirror. They should, I believe, light up when working. Like MNCarl said they should work with a defrost button.
None of my Nissans mirrors lit up.

Good to know. And that's disappointing, in some ways.
Do the mirrors have the squiggly lines on them? Can be a fuse or relay issue too.

The 2012 PRO4X that I have doesn't have heated mirrors on it. I have often looked into retro fitting the truck with them as they always fog up on cold, rainy mornings. But other priorities. I've looked into everything about how they work from Nissan, except if they light up. Sorry for the confusion.

Can you find your original window sticker? It might be that you don't have them. Nissan does some weird stuff occasionally.
We had a 2006 Altima 2.5S that didn't have Anti-Lock brakes. Figured when buying the car that all brand new cars had anti-locks. Learned it didn't 1st time it snowed...
Pulled out our copy of the window sticker - no mention of Anti-Lock brakes.

Nope. No squiggly bacon lines. I thought the 2007 LE came with heated mirrors. It says it online when I look up the features. But no, there's no icons or anything on the mirrors.

Used vehicle? Perhaps previous owner had put on tow mirrors...then replaced w/ standard mirrors? Just a shot in the dark...

It was a leased vehicle previously, so everything maintained was done by the dealer.

My 2007 LE has heated mirrors, I'll go have a look for mmmmmm bacon

Yeah, I have bacon symbols within a semi-circle. OP - perhaps the original owner replaced the glass in the mirrors for some reason - they can stop heating over time and need replacing. I would think the LE has the wiring for the mirrors, it would be worth the look to see about replacing.

Interesting. I'm guessing maybe the mirrors were replaced at some point, then. I have no bacon. maybe it was an option that only LE's could have (optional)?

I won't fuss with the mirrors and upgrade to defrosters. It's not a huge issue. I just figured I was doing something wrong and couldn't figure out how they worked.

RNZL3R, where are you from? The heated mirrors are only on the Canadian model Frontier. In the US you don't get them. They also get a block heater that the US doesn't....
