My ‘19 SV came w/the plastic chrome wheel skins on stock 16” rims. Now after 60k miles, is there a trick to remove the plastic skins without damaging them or the finish of the actual wheels beneath?

Some pics of the wheels themselves after removal would be helpful. Have read a few reports of these wheelskins resulting in a fair amount of scratches to the wheels surface which could be a dealbreaker for some folks had they know going into such a purchase. Makes sense that grime/debris/sand/etc could work its way underneath...
