I see some people with racks that are hook to the upper rails. I was wondering how much weight these will hold.

I am thinking of it for hulling plywood

I think the racks also rest on the bed rails.

I used to strap a 400+ lb gsxr 600 and all my racing equipment to mine. They flexed a little going into real fast tight turns, but they never let go on me.

Suggested ratings should be listed in your manual. The side rails hold more than the floor rails according to my manual which surprised me, although I have forgotten the exact numbers being an '05.

Moving 4' x 8' stock I use the bed cut outs and 2x6 or 8s to elevate the load above the wheel wells in a factory sprayed bed (not plastic bed liner insert).
