Hey everyone, I need to sell my truck and pay it off and get something that gets better gas mileage, currently the truck as 191k miles, it has had the timing belt done to it back at 151k, I have had it since 149k, it is leaking oil from the driver side valve cover which I have the new gasket for it and plan to do it soon, there is also some body damage from a deer and a stone pillar from the parking garage

I need to sell it to pay it off currently owe about 2800 on it and have some to put towards a new car any advice would be helpful

first three pictures are from the deer and the last two from the stone pillar

Private sale of that truck in my zip code would be 2.2-3.4k in good condition with that many miles. I think you would be fortunate to get 2k with that accident damage. Sorry good luck.

:crying:

Didn't say if you had I4 or V-6 most likely the high end of $3.4k is for supercharged and or regular V-6.

Never sell a vehicle and get another, just to get better gas mileage. It will NEVER pay off.

You are likely better off driving what you have until the wheels fall off, from a financial perspective.

As much as I hate sounding insensitive, I honestly wouldn't pay anything for it. I typically bypass anything approaching 200k, unless the interior/exterior looks showroom condition (shows the vehicle was taken care of). I know this wasn't the answer you asked for, but in your case I think RedDR has given the best answer you can receive on this. Cheaper just to keep it and do needed repairs over time.

I would keep it, you either paid way to much for it or got a REALLY BAD interest rate that has eaten you up (by paying minimum payments)

keep it and pay it off and baby it until you can afford better

but I must say, why dont you trade it in and let the dealer give you $500, better than nothing~

Geez, you guys for real? A running vehicle (especially a truck!) will get 2k, easy. At least in my area, it will. It would get more if it were 4x4, but if I remember right yours isn't.

Heck, I bet you could part it out and get more. My brother lives in Nashville... I wonder if the wife will let me get a 'parts vehicle'..!
