Do the diesel's we have get better with age and km's?

Just wondering how people are finding their navs D40 navs now they have been out for a few years now. I have got 140,000 on mine now and is going better than ever. Has anyone got more k's than this ? The engine is fully standard except for air intake via snorkel and I am trying the two stroke mix now as well which has made it even smoother again. Still on original clutch gear and replaced brakes for first time at 120k.

nearly up to 20,000km.

I just came back from a road trip around northern NSW just under 1500km round trip and averaged 10.73 ltr per 100km thats 26 mile to the gallon was pretty wrapped with that. mixture of hway and town and small country towns with hills etc. We went from the Sunny Coast to the Goldy for a couple of days then to Yamba via Murwillumbah, Nimben,Lismore and Alstonville to Balina then down the hway. While in Yamba, McClean, Brooms head, Redcliff, Angourie then off to Coffs and Sawtell down the hway through Grafton. Then back up to Bryon via the inland track through the Orara way to Grafton and back up the Pacific to Balina, Lennox head and Broken head and suffolk Park then back home via Pottsville and Cabarita.
was really wrapped with the truck and the fuel consumption was great.

almost 60,000kms on the truck now .
Cant fault it mechanically and it surprises the hell out of people just how hard it runs on the racetrack. If I need to get moving on the streets its a rocket.

for the last month i turned the chip off,all driving done around town taking it easy got 10.8l/100. surprised me on filling up
Hey Montana2835,

What chip are you using? After turning the chip off did you notice the drop in power?

I'm looking at putting one in the Nav at nearly 150,000km. Mechanically the truck is great but figured this would be chaper than selling this for the Nav with the V6 diesel coming out soon. Yes my car would still look older, but the driving I do means that a new car looks old after a week anyway.

steinbauer,i would call it a fairly noticable difference when the mrs drives 200 metres and come back and asked whats wrong.it will increase fuel useage to start because you will hammer it playing with the extra power to srart with :) the real difference with mine is towing.

as for the v6 i think we have a long wait.
