I was watching a auto show this weekend, I think it was "Motor trend". Anyway they were testing the Nissan 370Z.

They kept calling it the Nismo addition. Fine but it was the way there were saying "Nismo" that got me scratching my head.

They said it like this.... Knee-s-moe Sounded like they were putting an "E" where the the "I" is.

I always said it like this..... "Nis-moe"

Am I saying it wrong?

I know people from England say "Honda" like "Honder". Why I dont know.

But anyway, anyone have any insite to this?

Hahahah, me too! I wish spelling was exactly as it sounded.... then I wouldnt look so dumb. <---- dumb, perfect example. Why the "b" at the end? Answer: to make Jordo look dumb.

I've heard both.
You say tomato and I say tom-ah-toe.
Hahahah, so you say "Knees-moe"?

nismo means nissan motorsports so it's only fitting that it would be pronounced the way the nis in nissan and mo in motorsports are pronounced, put together....

...maybe the commentator had an accent? i know english folks say 350z ad 350zed (top gear)

Thats what I thought too. Must be an accent. But you would think they would correct the anouncer. Oh, well. Thanks for the info. Just didnt wanna sound like an idiot if I was saying it wrong.

I drive a knees sahn, knees moe.

I am from the Midwest which usually means the lack of an accent.

Now, if y'all want to call it a nizzz moe, that's fine by me, just don't try to call it a niss (pronounced like the slang for urine) moe.

But then, to be honest, I don't drive a nizz sahn, so I guess even that one is wrong to me.
