My original post http://www.clubfrontier.org/forums/f46/hot-start-issues-310033/

Turns out the brand new Duralast Gold distributor that I bought from AutoZone had a bad coil in it. I was not getting any spark whatsoever once the engine was at operating temperature and shut off. Wanted to update so other people didn't have to spend the time and money that I did in chasing down this problem.

I'm having the same problem with warm starts.

I was thinking injectors, but I don't smell gas in the oil, or around the engine exterior, and my mileage is about normal for this truck (averaging 17mpg).

So I'm thinking maybe my ignition coil is putting out a weak voltage when it's warm.

Where exactly is the coil in the distributor? Is there any way to cool it down (when the engine is hot, which is when this problem occurs) using some cooling spray? We use this stuff at work to cool down HVAC sensors to test them.

(Just realized this posted in the General section. Truck is a 2002 Desert Runner, VG33 engine).
