Hooking up a Electronic Brake Controller

Thanks x_mods that helps a lot that's exactly what I needed I will test it out and go from there. As far as the relays go I imagine they are already there as the truck came with the factory tow package but I will double check tonight to make sure they are there.
Any idea what exactly I'm looking for under the passenger side kick plate?

Thanks
You're welcome. I can get a picture shortly, but basically everything from this kit except for the actual 7 pin plug goes behind the passenger kick panel.

Okay, I went out and pinned my truck. Now I can only do so much because I have a 4 pin harness, and I know the 7 pin relay kit has something extra that the 4 pin kit doesn't.

For my 4 pin I have the same colors: Black, Yellow, Green, Red, and Purple. This is on the frame behind the rear bumper. Black is ground, Yellow is nothing (suspect it has something to do with the 7 pin relay?), Green is the right stop light, Red is the tail light, and Purple is the left stop light.

Now there is another 2 pin connector on the frame that is used in 7 pin, but that does nothing on my truck since I have the 4 pin.

If it were me, I would think white to black, brown to purple, green to green, red to red, and yellow to yellow. I say this because on the factory 4 pin harness they connect the black frame wire to a white harness wire for ground, otherwise I would not have thought of white as a ground.. But you should be able to figure out what pins go to what color pretty easily on the 7 pin plug. Then look at something like this to figure out which wire goes to which color based on the pin assignments I gave you. Assuming the 7 pin relays don't drastically reassign the pins..

Hello all, I have searched all over the internet and can not find my answer, figured I would try here.

I have a 2012 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab, I'm installing a 7 pin electronic brake controller. I have already installed the brake controller in the cab and that went well with the factory plug. I Purchased this part Nissan Replacement OEM Tow Package Wiring Harness, 7-Way Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring 118267. It's specifically for the truck but the problem is the previous owner cut out the factory female 4 pin plug and spliced wires. I've called the dealership to see if they can get me a female pigtail but they do not make them I would have to buy the entire harness.
I can splice the wire but don't know the color scheme.
On My truck I have Black, Yellow, Green, Red and Purple Wires.
On the Curt Adapter I have Brown Green White Red and Yellow.
I'm not sure which wire goes to which.
If anybody has run into this before I would greatly appreciate some guidance.

Thanks
Welcome to the club!

If you have a volt meter or a test light you can test the pins on the truck? The truck harness is the easy part to figure out.

Do you have the wiring diagram for the Curt controller? Without that it doesn't really matter what the truck harness is, because it would be very difficult to figure out the pin assignments for the brake controller itself.

Edit: I just realized you need the assignments for the hitch plug, not the brake controller. Sorry, my bad :)

Do you already have the relays installed behind the passenger kick panel? Either by your doing, or the previous owners?
