I never liked the poor interior lighting of my 2010 LE CC. So I decided to try high power LEDs as replacements. The reduction in wattage (8W X 3 total down to 4W) will also allow me to add LED strip lights in the footwells and maybe as puddle lights. I settled on v-led.com products as direct replacements for the 31 mm festoon bulbs in the dome and map lights. I was concerned that the 2W 4 LED "bulb" would be too bright for the map lights so I decided to try the 1W 2 LED there. Perfect decision. The light in the interior is now much improved and the map lights are not over-powering. The LEDs are 6K white and give off very white light. Some might find them a bit harsh in comparison to the warmer incandescent OEM bulbs; but they are perfect for me.

Sorry No Pics

I decided screwing around trying to take before and after pictures would be a waste of time. I've never been able to discern much of a before and after difference in other LED swap photo postings I've seen. The auto exposure setting of point and shoot cameras makes it hard to get a good comparison. All I can tell you is that I'm very pleased with the improvement in lighting with the high power LEDs.

There is a short, slight dimming turn off with the LEDs. The solid state device physics of the LED are such that when the input voltage drops below the trigger voltage, the LED turns off abruptly. I don't find it to be objectionable and think it is a reasonable trade-off to get better illumination.
