Hi guys,

I actually don't drive a frontier myself, but my dad has one, and I'm hoping to get a little help with an overheating issue it's been having.

It's a 2000 Kingcab XE 4x2 2.4 5-spd. one owner (bought and owned since new) and with only 50,000 miles on it

I am also thinking about getting a pathfinder or xterra as a next car.

no leaks

I replaced the thermostat and flushed the coolant, didn't really seem to help

I thought I didn't bleed it properly, but it's been a few months now, won't the air just work themself out?

I would do a good radiator flush next. yea the bubbles should work out

mmm I did a whole system flush though, both ways, shouldn't that have flush the rad as well?

I'm wondering if it's something to do with the clutch fan, or maybe the water pump?

Well is there a specific time it overheats? Or did anything happen before this?

This one time I was driving home on the highway, I noticed the temp needle was near the red zone. And it continued to happen after that.

During city driving it's mostly fine, but the car very slowly heats up (from mid point to the redline of the temp gauge) while climbing long inclines, or driving on the highway from 55mph - 65mph. If I'm going faster or slower, it won't heat up over middle point.

It also won't overheat if I turn the heater on max inside the car, but that's not gonna work out too well in summer
