Hi there, my 98 four banger needs a new harmonic balancer. I am having trouble getting the one-piece double pulley in front of it off the crankshaft. I removed the big centre bolt and tried to gently pry it off, but no success. I sprayed some penetrating oil inbetween the double pulley and the balancer, still nothing. All belts are removed. There is no feature on the ID that a puller could grab on to, and I don't want to use the puller on the belt running surfaces.
Any ideas?

Thanks!

If the balancer is fubared already, then using a puller is the best way. Who cares if it slightly digs in, you are throwing it away anyway.

You may just have to hit it with some PBblaster for a few days and then use the puller. Heck, maybe some heat will work but I doubt since heating the pulley will make it expand and thus making it even tighter.

I think I'm beginning to understand that the whole pulley is one piece: The two front pulleys are actually connected to the rearmost pulley (probably via the rubber), and the whole assembly needs to be pulled off together. Can you confirm?
