Hi everyone I'm new here and have joined because my 05 Frontier SE v6 AUTO has had some problems. I bought it used with 30,000 miles and its been downhill from there. Around 50,000 my gas gauge would work sometimes and not others but now not at all. But thats besides the point.
So recently when my truck has been in reverse, i felt a vibration when i gave it the gas. Its been getting worse and now the truck slips as well. On a hill its the worst. The rpm's will go up but i wont move and the vibration is bad. then its like the springs (or clutches, etc.) gave up and the truck just starts spinning the tires from the high rpm's. If i had to describe it its like as if the truck were a manual tran, i'm redlining it, then dumping the clutch in reverse. In drive and when its in 4wd its fine. I was told the rear end could be low on fluid any suggestions? HELP

Sounds more like a transmission problem, dude. Possibly a bad solenoid? Check for trans codes.
