hi , i have a little problem on my 06 frontier LE 2wd i just installed new bilstein front struts and a rough country 2.5" leveling kit , i did all the work idk if that my be the problem lol , but since i installed it every time i hit a small pothole or an uneven road it literally sounds like the tires are gonna fall off ,,, idk if its something to do with the upper arm or if it has to do w\ new struts and or the leveling kit , since i installed it i have driving it about 1200 miles n nothing bad has happen at least but the sounds are annoiing and to a point embarrasing....

i was reading an article on a jeep magazine the article was about how to install a leveling kit, as i was reading the stes on how they did it, one step caught my attention and its was that after they had install the leveling kit they had to aswell install an extension to the stirring column bcz the jeep was now 2 inches taller, soo idk if i might have to do the same w the frontier bcz to whenever i hit a pothole or go on those uneven roads my sterring wheels shakes quite a bit...

thanks for looking and reading if u have any suggestions or a solution to my problem plz helppp thanks

make sure everything is tight...from the sound of it, it sounds like you left something loose

no, from the sounds of it your Upper Control Arms are hitting the coil bucket. This is very very common on our trucks with anything over 2" of a spacer lift. Only way to help get rid of it would be to purchase aftermarket UCAs as they are designed differently.

Sound like the upper control arm is hitting the coil bucket. You get that with spacer lifts.

Alignment! Any time you muck with the front end you need to adjust the alignment. That's why your sterring wheel shakes.

Is it just one loud bang when you go over the pot holes?

Did you ever have it aligned after the lift?

If it were mine I would ensure that everything is tight and take it in for an alignment. And take it into a dedicated suspension and/or frame shop as those guys seem to better understande suspension setups and "tweaking" that may need to be done to get it into spec (trimming cam bolts, etc). Also, for an additional fee you could have them look over your work and tell you if anything was installed incorrectly or is loose.

Its assumed that you have non-adjustable bilsteins in the fron? Reason asked if you had the adjustable ones and they were maxed at 2" plus added the spacer for another 2.5"s you would be way too high.

Otherwise I dont think the coil bucket contact would be that bad. I've had my 2" spacer lift on for 5 months or so and I've maybe contacted once. I wouldnt think another half inch would make that big of a difference.

Which Bilsteins did you install? if you have the 5100 series, how much lift did you put into them? You cannot combine any spacer kit with any preload set-up. 2" is the max lift no matter how you do it without adding an aftermarket uca.

Any updates on your lift? I just purchased the same leveling kit but have not installed them yet. Did you do anything to the rear?

Got it! Will uca's raise the truck even more?
Nope. They'll just give you all the travel that you lost when you do a straight suspension lift in front
