When I was Frontier shopping the Desert Runner was something I looked at briefly. I ended up purchasing a 16 Crew Cab SV with value package.

Every 16 Desert Runner I saw was more than my SV with a ton less options.

You get a sticker package and some Bilstein shocks. Is there anything else?

Why would anyone look at buying a Desert Runner?

Upgraded wheels same as the Pro 4X, All Terrain Tires vs street tires, Taller profile tires giving it a taller stance with more ground clearance, lumbar support with adjustable seats, and of course the Bilstein Shocks.

I don't need 4 wheel drive but I do drive on dirt trails. So I opted for the Desert Runner because of the shocks, taller all terrain tires giving it more ground clearance. If I was only driving on the streets I probably would have opted for the SV. YMMV

I guess with the prices here you could buy almost all of those things except the seats and put them on an SV is what I was thinking.

C200 or M226 rear diff?

Different upholstery, bilstein suspension, white face gauges, taller tires, different wheels, locking rear diff, I think it has skid plates like the Pro4x too. I almost went that route, I was thinking either 2wd with a locker or the 4x4. In most cases, I could get just about anywhere I needed to go around here with 2wd and a locker, but in the end I opted for an SV 4x4 value truck pkg. As far as pricing in my area goes for the '16, since it's still fresh in my mind: (dealer asking prices, not MSRP)

SV 23k-24k
SV Value pkg 25k
DR- 26k
SV 4x4- 26k
SV 4x4 Value pkg- 28k-29k
Pro4x- 31k-34k
Couldn't find any SL trims in the state.

DR has the M226 locked rear end. Or used to.
It does not have that sadly. This was the part that really made me discredit the DR. The first gen DR got a rear locker and made the trim a legitimate plus over other 2wd models. When they brought the trim back for the 2nd gen they did away with the locker and its now a glorified sticker package... It doesn't even get the m226, its the same as any other 2wd trim but gets what has already been mentioned.

I paid $24,750 for mine on Saturday + Tax/title and tags. Couldn't be happier. Has Bluetooth, decent stereo, great seats, fog lamps, upgraded wheels, V6, all-terrain tires. Love it!

Luckily I paid $3k less than what your numbers show. In 2015 for my new 2015 DR CC bedliner and tow package. YMMV..

Good think I paid $3k less than what your numbers show for my new 2015 DR CC with bedliner and tow package and bed extender in June 2015. YMMV...
