NEXT, the exhaust needs to be done.
Here's a very important (performance) MOD that you should do on your truck.
Pic #3 shows the merge of the 2 flattened out left & right inlet pipes, stuffed into the main inlet pipe that goes to the muffler.
The factory has done this same poor exhaust design on the Frontier since 2005..!
My 2006 Frontier was like this and now, my 2018.
Get under your truck & you'll see what I'm referring to.
You need to have a muffler shop cut out and replace that horrible 'Y-Pipe' that is just ahead of the muffler,
and install a temporary or permanent one like this one below.
I just did this to my 2018 PRO4X, (cost me $50.00), and it REALLY helped with performance & throttle response.
This is a temporary fix for now. I'll be doing a full Dual 'Siamese' exhaust later this year.
Pics 1,2 & 3 are the section of the factory Nissan 'Y', that I had cut out, and pics 4 & 5 are of what I had installed.

I wasn’t going to do exhaust until I saw your pics. I rather do a bolt on full exhaust. I prefer a single exit system, which do you recommend? I want a nice sound, unlike the Magnaflow. Those mufflers are always too quite.

You can do whatever YOU, like. It's your truck.
A lot of the cat back system drone. There are articles here where guys are adding resonators and all kinds
of things to squelch it out. I suggest searching the forum for related topics.
I'm going to do the same exhaust on this PRO4X just like I did on my 2006.
Magnaflow Muffler, 2.50 in. Inlet/Dual 2.50 in. Outlet, Stainless Steel, Tru-X core design, part # 12568 cost about $130.00 or so.
It will be in 'Siamese' or Dual exhaust design exiting on the passenger side. ZERO, ZIP, NADA drone in 12 years & 105K miles.
For sound, it's loud enough when you put your foot in it, but quiet enough at cruising speeds that you
can listen to the radio at low volume.
You can also install a CAI.
