Hi,
Newbie here. I am an Engineer here at the Nissan production plant in Smyrna, TN where your Frontier was built. I have owned many Nissans over the years but this is the first time I have ran across this site. Glad I did! Seems as though many aftermarket and auto part related companys never carry products for our Nissans so I'm thinking the time here will be well spent with the combined experience of ownership on this site.

Thanks for accepting my registration and I will do everything in my power to help anyone I can. I'm not an expert by any means but I do know a few things and the resources I have here at Nissan may be useful to someone.

Currently Own:
2001 Frontier, SE, Desert Runner, 152K.
2004 Xterra, SE, 4x4, 128K.

Thanks for the warm welcome! I am a Maintenance Engineer. I design permanent countermeasures for recurring issues on the plant production equipment. Facets of the design changes include networking, robotics, machine automation, hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical. As you can see we are a well rounded group... :)
StormFront - Yes I do lots of PLC work. What brand do you have there? We have all AB - PLC5, SLC500 and ControlLogix.

Chaz - Yes amazed doesn't describe it well enough though.

Yes it is...I learn something new every day and I have been doing it for almost 20 years.
Well stick with it because that skill set is highly valued in a lot of markets. The more experience you have the more job security you have.
Thanks Silver Bullet! Nice Ride.
Thanks TT, glad to be a part of the club! I will be happy to share what info I can.

BigJohn.
Thanks Todd Ive been warmly welcomed... :)
Thanks Discover - Yeah, I know what you are talking about with Italian equipment. Been there done that! They use international symbols on thier prints that made me have to relearn a few things. Seemed like everything worked backwards to the way it should have. The German machines aren't much better. Japanese equipment is not as bad although some things are backwards to the way we would do them they are still pretty easy to understand. :)
Cool! One of the many facets of my job is Networking. Within the last year we have installed a manufacturing network in our plant and have connected over 100 devices to it including PLC's, PC's, Robots and many other ethernet capable devices. I hope you enjoy this work, I sure do!
