Hi,
Newbie here. I am an Engineer here at the Nissan production plant in Smyrna, TN where your Frontier was built. I have owned many Nissans over the years but this is the first time I have ran across this site. Glad I did! Seems as though many aftermarket and auto part related companys never carry products for our Nissans so I'm thinking the time here will be well spent with the combined experience of ownership on this site.

Thanks for accepting my registration and I will do everything in my power to help anyone I can. I'm not an expert by any means but I do know a few things and the resources I have here at Nissan may be useful to someone.

Currently Own:
2001 Frontier, SE, Desert Runner, 152K.
2004 Xterra, SE, 4x4, 128K.

Thanks for the warm welcome! I am a Maintenance Engineer. I design permanent countermeasures for recurring issues on the plant production equipment. Facets of the design changes include networking, robotics, machine automation, hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical. As you can see we are a well rounded group... :)

StormFront - Yes I do lots of PLC work. What brand do you have there? We have all AB - PLC5, SLC500 and ControlLogix.

Chaz - Yes amazed doesn't describe it well enough though.

Well stick with it because that skill set is highly valued in a lot of markets. The more experience you have the more job security you have.

Welcome aboard BigJohn.

I've had some PLC experience in my career path as well. They called us Automation Engineers at Dexter Shoe Company where I worked from 1998-2002. Most of my work consisted of gutting Italian shoe manufacturing equipment, looking at the schematics to figure out what they were doing and converting the whole business using Allen-Bradley PLC gear. Intersting and challenging work, and I learned to 'read' Italian.

Again...welcome.
