Hi. Just got my first Frontier (2012 4.0L CC RWD S with some aftermarket upgrades) a couple months ago and loving it so far. Definitely here for tinkering etc. Been using this site regularly for info as I've been doing stuff to my truck. Here's a list of mods (not including various minor repairs) I've done to mine so far:

-swapped the orange LEDs in the instrument cluster for blue ones (recalibrating those gauges was a serious PITA)
-modified the aftermarket power lock system (Avital 2101L) to add a physical lock/unlock button and progressive unlock
-re-seated the aftermarket window switches so they look more professional and fixed some wonky wiring
-wired in a backup camera with a sensing wire to the reverse lights (the little port for lowering the spare tire is a great little niche for a camera! just use zip ties so you can take it off quickly in case you need the spare)
-replaced double din factory radio with a single din and built a wooden switch panel to go below it (currently only switch there is for turning on the rear camera manually)
-wired in a raspberry pi 3 that doesn't do anything interesting yet (plan to have it interface with the wifi obdii module eventually)
-cut a 4 inch hole in the air box (gonna put a deck plate in there...eventually)

other mods I want to do:

-add cruise control (not brave enough to do the factory one, looking at the rostra)
-raise the center console so I can rest my arm on it (I'm tall)
-replace that little fold out cupholder in the back with something more sensible
-add some more switches to my panel (maybe one for the pi)
-add fog lights
-add an external temp sensor somewhere
-more stuff I can't think of at the moment

I hope I'll be useful in helping others do mods and maybe get a little help myself now and then. Good to be here!

I use that rear cup holder all the time - I'm a thirsty lad. Enjoy the new rig - welcome to the Club.
Hehe thanks. Mine broke like the second time I folded it out (the little piece that holds the main cupholder part to the track broke off). I don't know if it was already damaged or what because I didn't look closely at it. I tried JB Weld on it with some extra plastic pieces for reinforcement but it pretty much breaks every time I open it. The replacements are like 60 bucks! So, I was thinking I'd rig up some other cupholder set up back there, maybe something like this.

Is this not a common issue? I just assumed it was since it broke right away...
