To answer the 5' bed question . . . .
I was also initially worried coming from a 6' bed down to my CC 5' bed.
Hauling long things, like 8' 2x4s or pipe etc. it's not a problem at all.
Now, as far as payload (think mulch, topsoil, gravel etc. ) it obviously won't hold quite as much as a 6' bed.
The bed-extender (offered on Nissans, not sure about the Suzukis) makes up for less bed though.
Technically with the extender my bed is 5' plus another 18" approx..
The final verdict for me was I'm not sure what I was worried about, the 5' bed is every bit as functional as my 6' one was.
