I have a set of unused Hella 500 fog lights, BUT, they have no wires.
It is just the lamps with the couple wires sticking out of the back.

Question is, can I buy the rest of the necessary wiring and switch and have these as perfectly functioning lights or are they useless now or what????

Basically, can any half decent wiring/electrical guy figure this out easily?

(I know nothing about fog lights and/or electrical work)

you should be able to wire them up. here is a switch i used for some lights that fits right in that blank spot next to the cargo light if you still have the blank there.

I think it should work. Im not sure though. I used it for led underdash lights.

Yes, a half-decent wiring guy could figure it out. Any guy less than that, probably not.

You should really use a relay, so that the amperage from the lights doesn't have to pass through the rocker switch.

You will need:
  • 12ga primary wire
  • 15amp capable or higher "multiple purpose" relay
  • inline fuse holder with 15 amp fuse
  • switch of your choice
  • Various crimp terminals and connectors for easy wiring
  • dielectric grease to protect engine bay and light connections
  • heat shrink tubing to seal up all your connections and to make a clean install

If you want to get really creative, you can wire it up with an on-off-on switch -- so you can set them to come on with your parking lights, have them off all the time, or have them on manually.
