I'm about to pull my heads to redo the gaskets. 160K. What I'm wondering is if anybody did this on a supercharged truck using Courtesy Parts gaskets. The reason I ask is I notice the price for the blower related gaskets is MUCH lower at Courtesy opposed to the dealer. However, the dealer has gaskets that look to be impregnated w/what looks like anti-seize compound and I don't know what Courtesy is offering. I'd hate to have to do this over just to save a few bucks.
Also, anything I can do to address the valve/lifter tap that seems to plague a lot of us, while I've got the heads off. Any and all feedback will be appreciated, especially from you supercharged guys.

Also you would possibly need the head bolts as well. The bolts get streched as they are heated.

I saw that a guy do this to his "X" and he ended up breaking off the bolt in the block.

Just a thought.

New head bolts. Yeah, that's a good idea. After these heads are torqued, are you guys retorqueing after the engine's been up to operating temperature? Cool down first or retorque hot?

I think you torque once during install according to factory standards and that is when you put them on. You would have to tear down the top the engine to retorque.

Of course I never fooled around with engine rebuild so I'm no export.

I'll see what the DSM has to say. I've done it all 3 ways: torque and go, torque and retorque hot, and torque, run to operating temperature, cool down and retorque.
Anybody have any info on the Couresty blower/intake gaskets? I'm gonna google fel-pro and see what they offer.
