I am asking 19,250OBO in our nickels ads and 18,749OBO in the auto trader. What do you guys think? Wrong time of year to sell or am I over priced??? I have had a few calls but no one has came and looked at the truck which is in Excellent condition!

Try this link. This is what the dealerships in Colorado use for trade-in, or so I'm told. I looked up your truck and I got $19,375 for an average condition truck. So I think you right on the button. The problem I think may be that the new body style frontiers have just come out. People may be thinking for a few grand more they can get a new Fronty pretty close to yours. Anyway just my $0.02. Good Luck!! Its a great lookin truck!!

From my experience Kelly's is a little on the high side. The dealers mostly use NADA
book. If you are on good terms with your dealer you might have him give you the NADA
values on your truck.

If you are not on good terms with the dealer you might try Edmunds, they are a little more realistic, at least in my part of the country. Also be sure your Kelly prices are for your part of the country as failing to do so can put you either too high or too low.

I did not take part in this survey because I really do not know what your truck would
be worth without seeing it and then doing some research.

I stayed away from the supercharged Fronty's because I was fearful of the problems the supercharger might cause. I also didn't like that body style that much.

I think it is a combination of things. Dealers are dealing a lot, it's tax season, people don't know if they will owe or not, and if someone is going to spend 20 grand, why not spend 25 grand and buy new, cheaper interest rates and easier to qualify. Just my 2 cents.

A lot of people don't like to trade their cars because they lose money, but in reality there are some benefits that almost cancel things out especially if you're buying a car:

1. Dealership handles selling. You have no responsibility, which is good for peace of mind.
2. Because the trade in value gets deducted from the selling price of the car BEFORE taxes, you'll end up saving quite a lot, especially if your car is worth a lot.

The fact that you got a few calls makes me think its in the right price range...just gotta be patient...Just my 2 cents...good luck!

Just to give you a little more input, I bought my '01 S/C, 5 speed (rare), leather, moonroof, 17" wheels, and 2wd for $19,000, new, at the end of '01. I've run it a well maintained 100K and figure $12,500 on a trade for a new one would be favorable to me, not that I'm going to trade. That'll be another thread.
Bottom line, w/100K, 12,500 for mine would be about top dollar. For yours, w/44K, I'd have to say 14,500 would sell it, even thou we all know it's worth more. 16 - 16,500 if you wait for spring. Keep us posted.

Selling a car by yourself can be tricky, you have to take into consideration all the variables. I think some of the comments about the fact that a brand new Frontier can be had for a few thousand more is a valid point. I suggest comparing yourself to what other Frontiers are being sold for out there, not in a book, plus look at your competition (used car lots and newspaper ads). I think If you havent gotten any offers try lowering the price 500$ every month or so until someone bites. IF you can't wait this long then maybe consider finding a used dealer that will allow you to consign your truck.
That is how I sold my 2000 Jeep TJ. It took 2 weeks to sell, probably because of better exposure plus the Used Dealer took care of the financing and paperwork.
My guess wthout seeing your truck would be 17,500
BUT
If some 19 year old guy comes by and thinks your truck is his dream truck, well then you got what wanted. Its all timing.

I was hoping to get at least 18,200 for the truck. Thanks for all your input... I am not in a hurry to sell, but would like to sell soon. I just want a bigger truck!

That deal w/the consignment that kansasfrontier mentioned is a keeper. That's probably the way to go. The financing is the key. Pretty hard to be coming up w/a large chunk of money. $18,200 will need one of those 19 year olds with daddy's money in his pocket, but they're out there. Good luck and keep us posted.
