When you put 15/30 in it, was that a move from 5/30 or have you been running this stuff for a while? What type of oil filter? Could that sound be a bit like a pressure release?

Funny clunking? Gonna have to have a better description.Clicking, knocking, pinging, clattering, rattling? A clunk is the sound a bad u joint makes.
Have you set any codes? ses light on?

Revs kinka high? How high? (rpm) Does it stay there or go back to normal idle? I'm thinking maybe the throttle cable might be hanging. That's a place to start, anyway. Make sure everything relating to the throttle cable is moving smooth.

15W30 is an odd choice for oil, if this was a new swap then perhaps the "clunking" your hearing is valve clatter. That could possibly be causing your erratic idling. Try swapping it back out to 5W30 or 5W40 and see if that doesn't solve your problems. That 15 weight cold is thin and will run off the components after sitting for long periods of time. This would be causing "dry" start ups in which there is not sufficient lubrication on the internal components and will wear them down much faster than normal.
