Hankook DynaPro ATM's
I just got my Frontier a month ago and the tires (General Grabber AT's) are almost new so I don't have any plans to replace them right now, but when I do I'll most likely be going with another set of Hankooks since I've had nothing but good experiences with them in the past.
I got the Hankook DynaPro ATM's (RF10) for my Jeep Grand Cherokee last November - and man am I glad that I did. I was thinking about holding out until a local tire shop got some Yokohama Geolanders in stock based on reviews that I had read online, but decided that and figured I'd trust the other buzz that I was hearing about the RF10's. I knew the Hankook DynaPro AT (RF08's) got some pretty questionable reviews and were supposedly horrible in the snow, but the initial reviews I was hearing indicated that whatever Hankook changed for the RF10's, they were getting things right. I got them for about $150 each for 245/65/17's.
The RF10's were AWESOME in the snow. I live in Pittsburgh and we got hammered this year; 22+ inches on day in early February and numerous other 4+ inch snowfalls. I never questioned once going out with these tires on. The RF10's were worlds better than the OEM Goodyear Wrangler RS-A's that came on the Jeep in other normal weather handling as well.
Before my Jeep I had a 2003 Maxima. The OEM Bridgestone Potenze RE 092's had great dry traction, but wore super quickly and were horrible in the wet and snow. I replaced those with some Kumho Ecsta ASX's....they only lasted about 10k miles; what a waste of money....then I got smart and got my first set of Hankooks after my FIL recommended the IceBear W300's - they're advertised as a winter tire, but since I was on a limited income (in grad school at the time) I used them all year round. They were awesome in snow (and ice) and great in all other weather conditions; not too noisy and definately worth the price (about $130/each for 225/50/17's) . They wore extremely well too; I put about 10k miles on them in 9 months and they barely looked used at all. I definately recommend these tires for a passenger car, but can't really comment on how they'd perform on a truck.
I'm not trying to blow smoke up Hankook (or DTD's) *ss and could care less about a free t-shirt. I'm putting this out there because I've been that impressed with Hankook tires and think everyone ought to give them a try. They're well worth the money (usually an awesome deal) and are great performing tires. Just my $.02.
