I use Meguiars Gold liquid twice a year. For best results start with a good hand wash with DISH soap to remove old wax. Use the "two bucket method" to keep your wash rag as clean as possible. If you want to go all out research a Clay Bar treatment before applying the wax. It is a lot of work but well worth it. Then apply the wax as normal.

Here is another vote on Clay Bar but I recently switched to NanoSkin:
This works just as well and if you drop it on the ground you can clean it. One drop with clay bar and it is toast. I just use a spray bottle of soapy Dawn water for lube for clay bar or Nano Skin.

Only use microfiber towels!
for drying:

Another wax system from Meguiar's is their Ultimate products:
I had to compound mine for water spots and sap and this brand is mild. Then used the Polish as recommended. But the Ultimate Liquid Wax is superb and doesn't leave the wax dust in crevices. It also holds a better shine than the paste.

Compound:

Pre-wax Polish:

Liquid Wax

So if you have greasy elbows and want it done right:
1. Wash with Dawn soap (Two Bucket Method with Grit catchers)
2. Nano Skin (Clay Bar)
3. Wash again with Dawn
4. Ultimate Compound (most need it for water spots, tree sap, etc)
5. Ultimate Pre-Wax Polish
6. Finally...Ultimate Liquid Wax.
7. Sunglasses for the mirror shine that will last a long time. :nerd:

Clay Bar followed by Meguars M21 Sealant. Lasts longer than wax, applies/removes like BuTTa!

I swear by Zaino Brother products and so do many of my friends.
It's a polymer and not a wax.
Some say it's over priced but I think it's worth it.
They also sell stuff for plastic, tires, etc.

If it's your daily driver get you a good cleaner wax. Meguires makes a paste and liquid. For keeping up the look on a daily driver that is perfect. If you would consider getting a machine, a harbor freight polisher can be had for about $60 and it gets the job done. No need to go to extreams on a daily driver
