The first time I did it the "right way". ie took off the wheels, sanded em, prepped em etc. unfortunately they came out kinda matte looking, i think because it started to get a little foggy when i started to paint. and it was a complete pain for someone with 2 kids, 2 business's, and a job.
anyway I wasn't going to do all that again, so here's the half assed guide to wheel painting!
1) prep:
-I slapped some blue masking tape over the caps, and cut around the edge with a razor blade
-washed the wheel with a sponge and water
- did a quick wet sand
- cut out a 17" hole out of a big piece of cardboard

2) Paint
3 light coats of rust-oleum "high performance wheel". Note the cap is matte black but it's more like a semi gloss
3) done (truck is filthy)
