Offroading...by Kaena point on Oahu, Hawaii. Didn't have my good cam, so my phone cam has to do. I sure wish I brought it though!
Here we are getting ready to go. Sorry folks, my friend has a Toyota Taco...and lifted at that. Grudgingly, I have to admit it doesn't look that bad. Unfortunately, I can't convince him to switch to a Frontier. His loss...lol.
The first mud pit, and it's right at the beginning. Was a little nerve racking taking my truck in that considering I've never been before! My Frontier made it though.
View to the north:
At the end, the last mud pit...there were quite a few along the way, about 1.5 miles or so...hills, rocks, mud...it's all good.
My friend goes first...
Then me...ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
So right after that mud pit, there's an Xterra parked on the side...with its front license plate flipped up...We looked at it and said, WTF? S/he must of reversed or something...little did we know...
Deep drops in mud pits will make your plate bend! Nissan please put some clips or something on the bottom edge of the plate mount!!! None the less it was hilarious as my friend watched me come out of the deeeep *** pit. It was much deeper than the last one...no pics though, sorry.
All in all, a great day for me and my friend...but for this Chevy it was a little different story. He killed his engine in the middle of the pit! Bad move...They got him out, and his car started with some stuttering, but it had white fumes coming from the exhaust...water in the engine anyone?
My car was suprisingly clean! Two words: Mud flaps. They make a huge difference...Until I lift my car that is.
Only the engine bay was pretty dirty.
My truck won my respect. In situation even I thought I would get in trouble, she kept going. The truck doesn't have any creaks after offroading, and the body escaped any damage...well except the plate, but that just bends back into place. And I hit 1000 miles while offroading.
